Some ways to manage hot flash

Changes in lifestyle is the first step in dealing with hot flashes. Women who smoke have more symptoms of greater severity than women who do not smoke. Same also for those who drink a lot of caffeinated or alcoholic drinks.

Keeping a record or a sort of a diary can be helpful to determine what triggers hot flashes in individual women, since the triggers differs. For instance, some women have found that spicy foods can bring on hot flashes, but to the other women, this kind food is not a factor.
Regular exercise is usually recommended as help for hot flashes because physical exercise can increase sweating during the activity. But most of women find that night sweats are less severe when they are physically active during the day. The connection is not clear but it is probably because exercises levels of hormones and other good chemicals that circulates in the bloodstream.
