Valerian root as herbal sleep aid
For many years valerian root has been used as an herbal sleep aid. Valerian root can be used to help occasional sleeplessness.
Several studies have shown valerian root to be an extremely and effective way to promote sleep. Poor sleepers who have taken valerian as an herbal remedy report that they feel less anxious and nervous and have a better rest at night.
Valerian root causes none of the negative effects on concentration and alertness making it an excellent choice for those who suffer from chronic insomnia. Please be noted that a very high doses may cause certain side effects such as headaches, nausea and dizziness.
